Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Candidates must be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or specified East African countries with the intention of permanently settling in India, subject to possession of the required eligibility certificate where applicable.

Educational Qualification
Candidates must have:
- Passed the required Engineering Degree in the notified engineering streams, or
- Be in the final year of the Engineering Degree course.
Final-year candidates must submit proof of passing the Engineering Degree examination along with marksheets of all semesters/years by 1 April 2027 and produce the Engineering Degree certificate within 12 weeks from the commencement of training.

Selection Process
The recruitment process consists of the following stages:

Shortlisting
Applications will be shortlisted engineering stream-wise based on the cumulative percentage of marks obtained by candidates, subject to the vacancy-to-call-up ratio.
SSB Interview
A five-day Service Selection Board (SSB) interview will be conducted at the Selection Centres located in:

- Bhopal
- Bengaluru
- Jalandhar
The SSB is likely to be conducted between October and December 2026.
Medical Examination
Candidates recommended after Stage-II of the SSB interview will undergo a medical examination. The validity of the SSB medical examination is 270 days.

Important points:
- Candidates are not permitted to marry during the training period.
- On successful completion of training, candidates will be awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Military Studies & Defence Management by Magadh University, Bodh Gaya.
- Training is conducted at government expense. Cadets who resign or withdraw for reasons other than medical grounds are liable to refund the training cost at the notified rate.
