The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), North Central Railway (NCR) has released the RRC NCR Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Notification for 1853 Act Apprentice training slots under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Eligible ITI-qualified candidates can submit their online applications through the official portal from 8 July 2026 to 7 August 2026.
The recruitment is being conducted for various Divisions and Workshop Units under North Central Railway. Selection will be based purely on merit, and there will be no written examination or interview.

Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
Applicants must have:
- Completed 15 years of age
- Not completed 24 years of age as on 07 July 2026

Educational Qualification
Candidates must have:
- Passed SSC/Matriculation/10th Class (or equivalent under the 10+2 system) with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognized Board.
- Passed ITI in the relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT recognized by the Government of India.
Candidates whose SSC/Matriculation or ITI results are awaited as on 07 July 2026 are not eligible.
Engineering Graduates and Diploma holders are not eligible under this recruitment.

- Open the Engagement of Act Apprentices notification.
- Create a valid personal email ID if not already available.
- Register using Aadhaar number or PAN number and enter the required academic details.
- Fill in personal, educational and technical qualification details carefully.
- Upload the required self-attested scanned documents in PDF format (50 KB to 200 KB).
- Pay the application fee online, if applicable.
- Review the application carefully before final submission.
- Submit the application and keep a printout for future reference.

Selection Process
Selection will be made purely on merit.
The merit list will be prepared by giving equal weightage to:
- Marks obtained in Matriculation (minimum 50% aggregate)
- Marks obtained in ITI
There will be:
- No written examination
- No interview
Merit List Rules
- Candidates up to 1.5 times the notified vacancies will be called for document verification.
- In case of equal marks, preference will be given to the older candidate.
- If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier will be given preference.
- The final merit list will be prepared Unit-wise, Trade-wise and Community-wise.
- Final selection is subject to document verification and submission of a Medical Fitness Certificate.

Training Period
Selected candidates will undergo apprenticeship training for 1 year.
A stipend will be paid during the training period as per the applicable State Government rules and Railway Board instructions.
